How does a year pass in the life of a mother?
A year of war.
February 24 marks one year since Russia and Putin’s regime launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. This invasion caused an unprecedented humanitarian crisis in Europe since World War II.
Ukrainians have been living with the experience of war, bombings, incessant sirens, and a constant state of vigilance and fear.
During times of crisis and uncertainty, Ukrainians showed courage, and resilience and demonstrated incredible character as a people. The most important tools turned out to be solidarity, the spirit, and the desire for freedom.
However, the most difficult thing is to act when your children’s lives are in danger. Every mother knows better how to protect her child: stay at home with loved ones in any situation, leave everything and go to another country, move to safer areas of Ukraine, leave the country in the most critical periods, etc.
It’s impossible to speak for all Ukrainian mothers. This project tells about some Ukrainian mothers in Cluj.
